About Charaiveti Press
Charaiveti Press is an independent publishing house founded by JR Sandadi to give shape to memoirs and narrative nonfiction by Indic, Dharmic, immigrant, and independent writers. The name comes from the Aitareya Brahmana of the Rigveda — "Charaiveti, Charaiveti", "keep moving, keep moving" — a charge we take as both our guiding verse and our editorial compass.
“Presence cannot be retroactively purchased.”
— from The Eleventh Kilometer, Prologue
About JR Sandadi
JR Sandadi grew up in Hyderabad, India, the son of a man who walked eleven kilometers a day to build a future for his family. He carried that same restlessness across an ocean, building a twenty-two-year corporate career before walking away from it at fifty to pursue purpose on his own terms — through running marathons, real estate, community work, and writing.
He lives in Carmel, Indiana, with his wife Madhuri. The Eleventh Kilometer is his debut memoir, with Being Free and The Batti to follow under the Charaiveti Press banner.
